THERE WILL BE OTHER ACTIVITIES to enjoy as well. We'll be having some workshops (see schedule); a songwriter's panel; storytelling moderated by Elizabeth Neily of the First Florida Frontiers, (Click here for First Florida's Web Site); displays by fine instrument makers; CDs and other musical merchandise for sale; and more.

JAM SESSIONS: Lots of folks who love music love jam sessions, and we will have them at the Sunshine State festival! Bring your instruments and enjoy jam sessions all day!

In addition to the festival itself, you'll find fascinating historical displays in the school building, presented by the East Hillsborough Historical Society which operates the building. The East Hillsborough Historical Society will also be offering food for sale at the festival. You won't even have to leave the building to get something to eat!

Many of the performers in the festival (listed below) will have recordings you will be able to buy to take some of the great music home with you. Numerous CDs, DVDs and other music and storytelling related items will be available.

PARKING, CAMPING, LODGING: There is plenty of free parking at the festival site. For those who may want to stay a night or two, there are camping and RV facilities not far away. There are a number of motels in and close to Plant City, and many just down the road in Tampa. Click here for a large County Park nearby, with camping facilities. DIRECTIONS: Plant City is a beautiful quiet town just off east/west-bound Interstate 4, about 25 miles east of Tampa, 60 miles west of Orlando, not far from Kissimmee, Lakeland, Winter Haven, Lake Wales. Coming from the west on Interstate 4, take exit 19 for FL-566 E, merging onto Thonotosassa Road. Then turn left on Baker Street, merge onto Reynolds Street, and turn left on Collins Street. The festival site will be on the left. Coming from the east on Interstate 4, take exit 21 for FL-39, Buchmann Highway. Turn right on FL-39 South, North Wheeler Street, left on East Herring Street, left on Collins Street. The festival site will be on the left.

Admission for the entire event will be $15 for those age 13 and up. Admission for children aged 6 to 13 will be $5. Kids below 6 years old will be admitted free.
